Hi
A newbie in this great forum
Reports of bad reception keeps me from buying the T610...any other comments....what about the reception inside buildings and in the vicinity of the body???

You have to remember that the "reception bars" is a model specific estimate. On one phone it might be almost impossible to have a conversation with 1 bar, while on another you may not even have any distortion at all. The T610 has good sound quality even on 1 bar reception.

I tried the hand-over-the-aerial test on an 8310, and it did the same, although you have to wait 5 minutes for the signal strength to update!
I've also made a call (on my T610) and used GPRS on a signal strength of 0 bars! but the call was quite flaky!
But that's when I go visit my parents: They live in the Welsh countryside! Where I live, I get full signal throughout my house.

I go back and forth between two counties weekly, and just recently upgraded my t68i (at&t version) to an unlocked cingular t616. So far the reception is the same as my t68i in both counties. Can't speak for others though.

some owners report their battery life only lasts about 2 days under normal use at howardforums. they mostly do not use bluetooth, wap etc.

I get slightly better reception with my T610 compared to my T68i
one thing I noticed though is that I alot more often can use T610s GPRS when the T68is GPRS is dead so that seems greatly improved.
(could just be software though as I got an early T68i w/o upgrades)
