blimey, you've got a broken toe as well? hehe

It looks like it's not a firmware issue then.

And I've just noticed I've gone past the 100 posts mark, time flies when you are playing with your.....phone!

Double-hmmm, I'm on R2D phone firmware, but it's the PDA firmware that's the issue, the OS side of things, not the telephony side.

Maybe you have some other apps that are running hidden, or are just plain bugging up the streetmap software; mine works a treat (not that you really want to hear that!).

I'd be really p*ss*d if I'd p[aid for the software and the damn thing wouldn't run. Visual ITs support is pretty good tho', so drop 'em an email....

Have you got Handy Day running when you open the stretmap? It's the only thing I didn't close down when trying to open the map. Maybe that's got something to do with it? If Handy Day "resists" the shutdown call then maybe the map prog can't cope with it?

@Kearnage
You running Handy Day too?

BTW, other firmwares are:
CDA: R2A01
Organiser: R2A16

I generally only have Tracker running but I have also tried the following:

1. Closing everything with Tracker, compacting memory, exiting Tracker and running the street map.

and

2. Closing everything with Sman, compacting the memory, exiting Sman and running the street map.

It didn't work on either occasion.

My other firmwares are:
CDA: R3A01
Organiser: R1G05

How does that work?! Has my firmware gone down in version (R3A01 -> R2A01) or is that just a mis-type? That would be a new one from SE!

Im on R2F, problems also loading Street Map... Can only manage to open this map now and again. It uses so much Memory(RAM), when i manage to open the map i have 420kb mem left, on closing the map my mem jumps back to 8.21mb! Looks like a problem with the app programming....

@all

To a reboot of the P800 - hold th eoff button for 10 secs. When you restart, the app will run fine!

Like all good OSs (!), when an app has finished with its memory strand or whatever, quite often, it doesn't release it properly - a reboot will!

Cheers,

Steven.
