Hi Armin!
As you said in the last part, dont want to piss us off, we who bought the T68m - But what will happen the day it gets to us that the phones arent identical?!

Then I can belive that better watch out!!

And you seems to forget the part with the "new File-system" running in T68i, it manages the memory part in a more effective way.

Now the thing is that I don't have those secret games that can be found in the T68m. 1119kb - 879kb = 240kb Do the secret games use 240kb memory? I don't know, but most likely. So since T68i doesn't have these games, it has more available memory

WRONG It has the same memory, used for different things...read what you wrote... How can it have MORE memory, if it doesn't have all the features (like secret games)....

Quote: SE removed the games for several reasons:
1. So that we can save more than just 1 background picture on the phone.
2. Since T68i has MMS and these tend to use some memory.

When T68m gets the MMS update, we too will be able to save more than one background and will have all the T68i features, does this mean we will get more memory? NO, the old memory (like secret games) will become free and be used in a different way.

Regarding the games: You forgot to take in to account that some games maybe use a little more memory than others, why other would remove specific games, while leaving crappier, more simple games? Maybe that also has something to do with it....

Per Alksten from SE told this in an earlier article.

The OS are different in these two phones,..that why the memory "shows" different numbers too.

He said that they were exactly the same, although it might not look like it

Who ever said that all the memory in the T68m was available anyway. I could be locked. They were always going to be upgraded after all. I think this board is getting full of people who are frankly silly enough to think that they have some amazing better phone in th T68i. By keep harping on about MMS and memory it makes them feel better about having the phone when they deep down know it isn't a better phone once the T68 is reflashed.

Peanut > Personally I dont feel like having a better phone,..at least not software-wise.

Yes the T68i does have better buttons, backgroundlight, and a somewhat sharper screen-resolution.
Thats just what you would expect from a newer phone.

But its not a better phone really,..its just different from T68m.

I still think my T68m is one of the most composed phones I've ever had, and still thinks its beautiful

Just because I'm using the i-model, doesnt mean that I dislike the m-model.

And as Per Alksten SE said, there are no differences in memory on these two,..it might just show differently because of different OS.

by "different OS", do you mean that after the upgrade the T68m will have exactly the same functionalities/features as the T68i BUT they use different OS?

if this is the case i think it is possible that T68i might have more storage capacity than T68m.

According to SE, the OS is different,..that will not be changed.

Yes, they have exactly the same features after the T68m is upgraded, although their OS is not exactly the same.

The different OS also affects the battery-times :

T68i has better battery-standby.(+100 hours)
T68m has better talk-time.(+ 1 hour)

AND the way the memory "shows". But theres no actual difference in the capacity.

Thats the way it works according to Per Alksten SE.

since they have different OS then it is possible that even if they both have the same memory, the size of the OS might differ thus resulting in different storage capacities. T68m might have less storage capacity than T68i or it may be the other way around.

am i too paranoid??? hehehe
