I am now using my 8890, until I can sort it?

It has just locked me from accessing the phone? So stupid ah?

That's because the former user has protected the phone from being stolen. Changing SIM-cards makes it ask for the code.

Actually I think it's a good idea to use that kind of protection.

only a SE service centre can reset the phone code, the service provider has no control over this and even if you were to pay and receive the Network subsidy code (to allow other networks sim cards to be used) the phone would still lock you out. SE might ask for proof of ownership before resetting the phone code to default.

Apolgoies for 'recycling' and old thread, but I've done a search and found a few similar topics to this, so I thought I'd use this one rather than start another one off. I have a similar problem to this on a T68i I've just bought secondhand and fixed.

The phone has had a new screen and facia, and after all that, I've turned the phone on, and it's asking for the phone lock code!!!

I've tried 0000, 1111, 12345 with no luck, and don't want to try any more in case it locks the phone further and needs a puk code or something.

Most of the threads on this subject seem to be at least a year old - is there now any further option that could find this code out for me - like Float's Mobile Agent, or any such similar software? Or is it still a service centre job?

It easily done if you have a terminator dongle and DIV8.4. I have done it on my phone when I forgot the code.

Can it be done with a programme like Logomanager - I've noticed that when I connect a Nokia up to that it brings up the phone's security code, along with the usual information

you can do it with a Terminator dongle an DIV... just select Clear User Code and it should be the standard "0000" code

Damn, I don't have a terminator dongle! Got a standard data cable and a syncstation, although by the sounds of things neither of those two will cut the mustard!
