@P800_Zen_master

It might be worth checking if your SE center can 'downgrade' your fone.

If they still have the older flashes, you could have the upgrade and simply swap back if you were unhappy with the new version.

If my theory is correct then you wouldnt have any probs with upgrade part.

If you do have it done, i'd wait a week for the fone to settle down before making a final decision, that way you will know if you need/want the extra features...

here's my view, with
R1d i had ToD about 20 times along with memory problems etc sms memory probs..
i upgraded last week here ln lreland,(i believe they told me mine was the 1st P800 they'd done!) and since then i've had 1ToD and that was when ld put my sim back ln after collection!

most of the memory problems from what i can gather ls Symbian related with most if not all Symbian phones-Having similar probs

if u have a chance to upgrade go for it, ln my Opinion your phone wont be any worse off!

I'm running-

Phone Software: R1D
Bluetooth: R2C
CDA: R2A04

How far behind am I in the firmware-uprgading race?
Is it absolutely necessary to upgrade?
Is my phone lacking major features?

the latest features are
widescreen pictures,
image fix,
multiple file selection,
mute shutter and a shoddy night mode for the camera,
and the camcorder runs fine on R2f without any fixes.

i've heard of folk who found R2F to fix bugs they had, but as i havent noticed any, i havent noticed if it fixes them.

i'm happy to continue upgrading as soon as the next one comes out,

guess it depends on much luck yu've had so far and how much your willing to risk...

Major changes I noticed from R1D:

1. SMS REPORTS
2. FULL SCREEN PICTURE/VIDEO/INTERNET VIEWER
3. LOOSING CALL LIST AFTER POWER OFF- FIXED (When using International Charaters)
4. IMPROVED BLUETOOTH
5. COMMUNICAM: NIGHT MODE/MUTE SHUTTER
6. ALMOST NO TOD-S

(This is what I can think of now - with all antibiotics and pain killers in my system - I am having a bad ear infection! )

What is a TOD?

Touchscreen Of Death?
Timer Of Death?
Time Out Delays?

Usually I'm the master of acronyms, but this one has me scratching my noggin.

ohhhh...silly me...

The 'Triangle of Death'?

Why not call it the "Blinking screen with Chinese Characters with a Timer Clock insribed with the number 10"?
