sorry... didn't see this post when I replied to the other so I will reply again in context...
Once again, Malinda, it sounds like you should be buying Nokia since that would appear to be your preference.
I have no issue with the cameras in the phones at the moment and having VGA resolution will only add to my GPRS and MMS costs. People who receive pics from my T610 have never complained about the quality or size.
Be happy for once!

Its all well and good that nokia's have better built in camera's but whats the point if their screens don't do justice to the camera quality. I know the smart phones do, but take the clip on for the 7210, or the 7250i's camera and screen..... one word for ya.... crap.

There seems to be a bit of confusion about mobile phone cameras. They are not made to replace the digital cameras. The pictures taken with a mobile phone camera are ment to be viewed on a mobile phone screen, and shared via MMS. There is really no need for 1mpx (or even VGA) resolution when you will be viewing the picture on a 128x128 (or smaller) display.

In any cse, it would be nicer if we could send and receive pics thru email (who needs mms) and had a screen that would do them justice.

Personally I think Siemens has struck a nice balance with their S5* cam..
You could argue about the pros and cons of attachable cameras vs. built in ones, but i still think the Siemens one is nice, built in flash and all.
That being said, if i want to take a REAL picture i use my Nikon and if i want to make a call i use one of my phones
PS: I haven“t found the numeric keys on my Nikon either

Yes I like the attachable cameras aswell. The Siemens camera seems nice I haven't tried it though.
But I would like a seperate small camera (for use with the phone) with bluetooth and without the need to attach it to the phone. That would be very nice.

the Nokia 7250 screen in particular is a joke, when it comes to displaying pictures taken with the inbuilt camera.
There r no pros to an external camera. It is a hassle, and who the hell can be bothered to carry one around just in case they might wanna take a picture. The only people who are able and can be bothered to do that r women with their deep abyses they call handbags.
Intergrated cameras, r quick and convienient and they should do a decent job! Most people who buy phones with an intergrated camera do hope at some point they can make use of the camera and it will be of a decent quality.
We r usually not camera boffins and do not own a digital camera let alone a normal one! - buying a phone with a camera is almost killing two birds with one stone. I'm out I see something I like "click" - moment caught - great convienient - I do not and never will walk around with a digital camera hanging out my back pocket but i always walk around with my mobile phone (which convieniently enough can take photos)!
If the blue tooth on the phone didnt work well enough, I wouldnt say ah well its just a gimmik, ill go out and buy a dedicated bluetooth device - no, id be pretty pissed off and bemused as to why 1 major selling point for the phone is naff!
Hell, i paid £300 for this phone, I can get a digital camera for less than half that price - by jove this mother Fucki***ng camera had better be of decent quality on the phone for that price.
aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
dammit its friday and im getting het up like this!
damn u Sony and damn the shite camera quality this phone posseses, nice design though - lol

Now, I wouldn't want to pay £100 extra for a phone that already costs £300 just for the camera. It's just not worth it. If I want to call someone I use the phone. If I want to take pictures, I use the camera. If I ever want to capture the moment, I use a phone camera. The quality is decent enough. You have to use the equipment for the purpose it's ment for. You don't take a row-boat out into the ocean, and then complain that it doesn't go fast enough, do you?
