Hello guys, let's not get mixed up. The HPM-30 is a stand-alone MP3 player. You listen to it with a WIRED headphone provided by SE. The only thing BT about it is after you paired it with your T610 and when a call comes in, you can pick up the call through your WIRED head set. The HPM-10 is connected to the T610. Once connected, the screen on your T610 becomes the interface of the HPM-10; where you can select tracks, increase/decrease volume etc.
IMO, a real BT MP3 player will be one with wireless headphone and the music is transmitted through BT. Howard Chui tested the SE HBH-60 with the Nokia 3650 and reported that you can actually watch a movie clip on the handset with its sound transmitted to the HBH-60. Now that is real BT to me!!!

Hey! I've been reading about the HBM-30 and it comes out in the UK and possibly the US in October.
It'll cost about Ģ190.
Oh and I am gonna sell everything that I can get my hands on (except my T610) to get it!

I reckon thats a ludicrous price to pay for this ite, if that is really what they will charge for it.
Take a look at sites like
this one and see what you can get for that sort of money. For only 50 pounds or so more you can get the fantastic ipod!

There is a workaround for solving the connector issue on HPM 10. You just have to make the letter c connector to open wider so it can squeeze the phone tighter.

@lesneo
I dun think that the current standard of BT allows the streaming of uncompressed audio to headsets. A stereo audio would require a bandwidth of roughly 1.5Mbps and BT now only has a maximum bandwidth of 768Kbps using ACL
So that means you'll can only transmit compressed audio and a decoder is required at the receiving end which translate to either using a wired headset or a bulky headset

MP3's are compressed audio. Also so far all SE have released is that the HBM-30 will not come with a cable to connect it to a computer and that it is unlikely that it will support being connected to a computer to transfer music via BT. Also they have recommended that users buy a memory stick reader which SE themselves do not sell. I hope that this has been helpful to someone out there ;-)

Personally I would never buy add-ons to phones as long as there are alternatives like the I-pod or Jens of Sweden mp3-players around..
I donīt like compromises or swiss army knives either
EDIT: I think the question should be: Whatīs a good mp3 player for ME, not the phone. Use the phone for what itīs good at instead and get the best gadget for the sole purpose of playing mp3īs.

hey I got confused when I read
w@mob and it show the HBM-30 as Ģ130 and coming out October.
I phoned SE (UK) and the man said that they are coming out October, gonna be Ģ180 and he has played with one and that they are cool! He said the one he played with was green :S but he prefers the silver and other colour ones. He said that they will be shipped with 64mb or 128mb or even possibly 256mb or 512mb! I have seen adverts that describe it as upto 10hours music, not sure whether this refers to battery or storage but if it refers to storage I'd say this would be approx 512mb. Not sure though.
Not sure if this will have helped anyone.
