I have T-Mobile in the US and I want to unlock my phone so I can use it when I study abroad in Australia. What do you say to the Customer Service representative to get them to give you the unlock code?
Thanks

I also have a problem with my T300 Sony Ericcson Vodafone pay as you talk.
I bought the mobile phone in the UK, and I am now studying in Germany.
When I bought a new (pay as you talk) sim card (in Germany)... the phone won't allow me to use the new German card. :} as it is locked to other country sim cards.
I contacted Vodafone UK Cust. Serv. (or lack of Cust. Serv), they said that Vodafone Germany can unlock my phone at the shop where I bought my sim.
At Vodafone Germany, they said that I have to go back to the UK to get the phone unlocked.
This is a viscious circle of Customer service mayhem...can anyone tell me what is the code I need to enter or point me to where I can obtain the code without flying back to the UK!!!
In this wireless age, there must be an easier and cheaper (hopefully free) solution.
Cheers!

Turn on your phone. While in stand-by state enter this <**< and you should be able to enter unlock code.

Does somebody know at least how long is the key? 4 digits? 5 digits?
I'm gonna try all the combinations if I have to.
Thanks

I've only ever done this once and I recall it being either 8 or 10 digits (not exactly sure which)... that'll be alot of tries for you!

Choose "Network"
You will be prompted for the unlock code
Enter unlock code
You should get a "Network Unlocked" message if everything went OK.
You might have to turn the phone off, and on again to get it to accept the SIM
