No there is no actutal software with the IR reciever, there is no program which trun it on or off....There is nothing actually....

win xp should automaticly detect it-no software needed. what does it say under "ports (com & lpt)" in your device manager?

Well the computer says that the port is there, I can find it in the control panel and under device manager, but i´s like I need to enable it, but it comes with no software, I just cannot "turn it on"....
