Bogus, havent exactly got my burner problem sorted! Just managed to make a data CD without any problems. But making an audio CD is another thing altogether. I can only copy about 13-14 songs on an 80 minute CD - leaving just under half the time on the CD free!

As for getting another hard drive - well, I have a laptop so this isnt much of an option unfortunately. I just need to know though, if I transfer selected MP3's from my DATA CD to make an AUDIO CD will I lose any quality?

I will try to clarify what I think is happening:

With whatever burning program you were using, as you put the Mp3s onto the CD it was converting them to CDA format and burning it as an AUDIO CD which will play in any CD player. In CDA format you have a capacity of 74 or 80 minutes. We all suggested that you backup your Mp3s onto a DATA CD as this keeps the files as they are and burns them to the CD in their orginal format/file type. Burning the files in their original format you have a capacity of 640 or 700mb. If you tried to play this on a regular CD player you would probably just get noise (unless it was an Mp3 CD player). You will not be reducing the audio quality at all by transferring the files to a CD and then copying them back in order to make an AUDIO CD. The files remain as they are in Mp3 format the whole time until you make an AUDIO CD.

Give Nero a try (and maybe use it in Nero Express mode to start with)- maybe it is a little more simple and straight forward than the program you are currently using.

Sorry Bogus - Just read back my last reply to you and it sounded a little harsh - it wasnt meant to, it just came across all wrong (Im not too good at communicating in this way) (Im also not too good at technical stuff!)

I will defo try out Nero. And, at last, i can delete ALL my MP3's from the computer ))

No doubt you all will be hearing from me again after the weekend with another problem.

But, seriously, thanks everyone for your help.

No problems. Glad to help. I was once full of questions, now I like to think I'm full of answers.
