Phone is a phone not game or mp3 or camera...
phone which has camera always suck!! or maybe next several years... but still suck thou.. no blitz.. low resolutions.
Games? also sucks... bad controller, slow, bad graffict.. could damage your phone ..trust me..
mp3? only fit for couple songs.. waste battery, the quality not as good as regular Mp3 player.
Phone is a phone

cos its nicer to be able to carry one device around instead of... a gps unit, a digital camera, a phone, an audio player, a pda, a handheld console, did i miss anything out...
the cameras on phones are not meant for taking holiday snaps or other proper photos with, its meant for fun
providing a light to the screen is the major drain on the battery, just playing audio doesnt really consume that much really.
though to be fair people do use gprs a lot i use it to recieve emails on the phone, games also (including java), i know its no handheld console, its not meant to be, its meant for playing a quick game while your waiting for something. i personally use wap a lot, on orange uk you get free wap so why not use it.
I gotta agree with the music dj, composers on old phones without ir or bt was good, it meant you could have a unique ring tone, but with a phone that has bt and ir, you can just transfer the ringtone.
maampia: no the phone could never handle wav ringtones, with a memory of only 2mb you could get a second or so of audio b4 you fill the 2mb up. anything but midi just takes up too much space on a phone that isnt designed as a phone to play music and so doesnt have the memory capacity to store music

I would skip ALL the other features if they could hook it up with some strong ultra-violet light bulbs at the back of the phone, for the purpose of keeping your tan in perfect condition after your vacation- In your office, on the road, at the park, together with your friends, for the intimate parts ,etc.

Disposable cameras are for fun, but they still take a pretty good picture! - otherwise whats the point!
this phone can only really take great photos in EXCELLENT lighting conditions, otherwise.....
I was in the living room the other day, average lighting conditions, tried to take a pic of my niece and all i got is a shot as if i was taking a pic of her in a dark alleyway accompanied with some strange blue haze....
i feel like ive said all this before, forgive me, must be bugging me that much!
but ideally, wed all want a phone that can do a multitude of tasks and do them well! - As much as you say purchase seperates to do the individual jobs, the way forward is for convienient all in one packages and like or not that is the way the market is going...
Theyll get there, eventually.... and until then BonC aint making another rash purchase...

I kind of agree with Da_WiZ
A lot of people don't care about carying lots of functions ... etc
I would Like a phone like T610 with and mp3 player, SD Card slot and a Camera 640 x 480 (internal or a clip on that can stay forsometime without worrying its gana fall of(Mably like nokias with a wire or a 1mg memory to take pictures and then upload them on to the phone)
Dual band
(Huge number) Polyfonic ringtones
java and GPRS for applications like msn Msg
Most importantly a great PC suit that Works (unlike the P800's)

my T610 is my new baby now..
i dont mind the camera as in day time it can take really nice pics
(waiting to get the flash addon)
but i wouldn't mind some more memory cos i take many pics and often deling games and other things to make room for photos..
do you think would be possible to use the phones BT capability to have like a extra memory storage, something the size of the camera add on for the other phones, but you turn on blue tooth and boom, instant extra storage space...
if they brought it out i would think it be very popular

thats a great idea actually mate. dont see why it wouldnt be possible. it would need some kind of screen though so you can see what you got saved/memory status etc
i use my t68i in this way, just for pics though
