@ nokevin - am very glad you don't do it everyday, 146mph that is! Still you can only kill yourself once and yes I probab;y do sound like a grown up! I have a memory of a boy I nursed who came off a bike and was paralysed - everywhere. I know I sound dull but I think the place for people who want to do that kind of speed is on a track. The helmet is irrelevant, no protection at that speed. My neighbour's 25 year old daughter was killed by a bike doing 140ish this summer. The biker died too, he was 42. The footipath crossing where Sarah died has 100yds visability in both directions. You know the old story "if you are on a railway track and see a train the size of a postage stamp it will hit you". So be careful out there.
