its because the technology is overtly simple
just like back in the days of the ataris, where one could throw his around, or pour coffee into it and it still works.

i never ask myself if i can sell my older phone when i buy a new one or if i CAN sell this one when it gets old. usually, u get so much less on it that ud rahter keep it.I have a T610 now and before i owned a Sony CMD-J7..and i can`t sell it cuz no1 wants it!
My point; i knew that and i`ll keep it ...i just dont think about re-sell.Not very good economically but i have the peace of mind:)
