i have also experianced this problem. And i am a careful considerate user it's just natrual for paint to wear away eventually my p800 has paint coming off the corners and quite a bit of paint has come off the the stylus holding nob. I h ave bought myself a permananet silver marker from woolies and the shade of silver's simlliar so that solved the problem.
I apologise if any one is offended by this post if i have please let me know so i can apologise and then modify the post.

Yeah I also had this problem, my phone was lumo green now its turned this ugly silver color ???

Replacement housings are relatively cheap on ebay and stuff, plus you can always custom finish your extra one to whatever colour your heart desires.
