Well, if Motorola is using Microsoft software in the V600, then my choice is very simple. I will never touch a M$ based phone that's for sure. I have enough problem with M$ desktop OS.

I haven't heard that Motorola is using M$ OS in the V600, is this really true??

I say no thanks to constant security problems, crasches. New updates every week etc.

OPPS!....

Sorry there...I mistook the V600 for the MPX200.
The later of the two is the one im taking about with the microsoft software.

Thank for correcting me.

In that case, SE Z600 in my opinion, is the much better phone than the MOTOROLA V600. Not because im a SE user but because i have had an experience with Motorola phones being to slow in certain applications.

The latest of which is the MOTOROLA E365.

I doubt though the P900 will be the best of smartphones cos HTC will launch ther XDA2/MDA2 with Pocket PC 2003 Phone edition, BlueTooth and internal cam. I think bussines users will choose for the MDA2/XDA2 cos of the fact is has MS offices Word/Excel/MSN Messenger and it can use all other PPC programmes.

Though V600 looks cool... better wait for the Swarovski edition BLING BLING. Also you forgot the SE Z1010, Samsung E700 and D700 as competitors for the title 'Best clamshel of 2003Q4 and 2004Q1'.

The V600 is indeed a very tasty phone. Absolutely excellent screen (brilliant colours AND high-res) and solid look and feel.

I have a fetish for metal-cased phones... still take my old Nokia 8850 out of its box to fondle it now and again

hello to all, im new to the forum, but i thought id just share my experience i had. i won a motorola v400 basically a plastic faceplate, slightly larger than the v600, no bluetooth, no infrared (i just dont know why they didn't include atleast infra red), im sure you all know the differences.

I also saw the v600 albeit minus the aforementioned specs, the interface is practially the same. the screen was just plain vibrant compared to my t616, it made it look dull, the camera white balancing and quality was a lot better than the 616 (i know its not made for prints but, they were just so much more crisp. i even took identical pictures, bright light, low light etc, and the v400 was just so much more visible and clear.) and the quadband is essential to any world phone. but in the end the lack of bluetooth, and the motorola menu system was just a little to awkward to use.

although the camera and screen is alot nicer, (im sure mms-ing would be great on this phone) i dont mms too often, and i dont like the fact that unless you set it up to where it doesn't answer on a flip, the picture id is useless. but i know several motorola fans who love the v400 so i think it comes down to self preferences. i can just plain text faster, go through settings quicker, with my t616. of course the same arguement could be said for any manufacturer, just remember this is coming from someone who loves SE's.

oh and one last thing, the speaker phone is cool if you dont care about who's listening to your conversation, and especially when you gotta chekc your voicemail, but it is oneway. so you have to make sure that you and the other party knows when to talk and when not to.
