Yes, it is expensive for a toy. For the same amount of cash, you could get yourself a 1/12th scale remote control car. But if you love gadgets, like me... just got to get this one.

There is a small lever located at the bottom (front) of the car. You could use this to compensate the steering/alignment of the wheels. Just move the lever to the opposite direction where the car is inclined to go.

This won't totally fix the problem, but it will help somewhat.

Yes, you could use the joystick.

Or use the keys to control the car.
1 - Forward
2 - Left
3 - Right
4 - Backward

To control the speed:
* - 1
0 - 2
# - 3

Although, I didn't notice any change in speed.

The volume keys can also be used to control the car.
