Just write a regular sms and open the options menu - insert item - animation. Where do they come from? And any clue about the tasks priorities?? :-[ This post was posted from a T68i

Okay switched my phone to a new T68i today. What a bad phone this is. Same problems with the 'SOS calls only' and on this one the battery and the volume key are very loose so they give this rattle sound. My old T68i had much better build quality!!!!

I will try and get my money back tomorrow and then buy the phone somewhere else. See if I can find a place with several phones so I can compare them side by side. Check display contrast, keys, joystick, battery etc. before I buy! These T68 i and m have very random built quality to them (my 2 T68m's were also very different in quality). So now you have been warned!

jh67: Did you get you R2B025 today? What differences do you see between this and the R2A014?

I've found another flaw: when inserting a €-sign into an SMS the number of allowed characters dramatically reduces. A workaround is to type the sms first and include the € afterwards...

Btw, I've had no problems with reception, the gauge is almost always full (with NL Vodafone)...

The €-sign is probably a special character. Then every character suddenly takes up 16 bit instead of 8 bit. This means that an SMS can only hold up to 80 characters! (or so I have heard!)

So when I insert a € it converts the whole text to Unicode (or something like that)?

My Nokia 3330 never did that though...

JKAY > Yep, got the upgrade today.

its very good actually,..sms is clearly faster because of the different way it works (eZi-text).
its also faster when going into the sms-messages,..we used to have the small "hour-glass",..its gone now basically because it works faster.
The hourglass is still there in e.g. pictures and so on.

You seem to have problems with yours,..I dont have a rattling/noisy volume-button, actually its very firm.

The sos-calls might have something to do with your operator. I've never had those, not even on my T68m. (Har TDC og gprs)

2JKay:

i gotta agree.. your "SOS CALLS ONLY" problem is most probably your service provider's fault and nothing to do with the phone.

Maybe it's my service provider's fault, but I have TDC (same as jh67) and I never got these 'SOS calls only' messages on the T68m! And just for the record: 'SOS calls only' mean that the phone cannot connect to the preferred network and is connected to another one, where it can only do emergency calls.
I ask TDC yesterday and they said that I may have problems with my SIM card! But the SIM card works perfectly in my Siemens M35!!!
