@deceased, It HAS got a 5 position joystick on the side, its called a Jog dial, it's no different to a joystick in use. (joystich is ALSO 5 position).
I think people who complained about it not having "withhold number option" arre justified, but you can still withhold using a small prefix code, so its not completly missing really.

I have NO complaints about this very new & wellbuilt phone, maybe they can handle a bigger Duo, but we haavn't been told yet.

Got mine today and love it. Shape screen quality feel etc are excellent.

Proper duo slot cover and stylus. Havent much played with the apps properly yet but look similar to the P800.

This is what the 800 should have been from the start!

Yep, profiles still missing.

I read somewhere that you could use the different themes as profiles.
Can anybody confirm that?

You could set up diffrent ringtones etc. within each theme but depending on how often you change 'profiles' I can see it becoming a bit of a pain.

@pachy
Tell us, what is this obsession you have with the jog dial....Although in your defence it is very practical. It seems that you are on a personal campaign to enlighten us with the benefits of "jog dial"

On a serious note,
I have ordered another 128 stick, that makes 2 and it is still not enough. As previous post said "Pull your finder out Sony"...

I think that the screen and the whole unit could be larger, maybe not as big as the XDA, but somewhere in between.....

@JJayMobile, , I must never mention it again.

OK just this once, the jogdial is the SINGLE item that sets this phone/PDA apart from all other phone/PDA's in my opinion, it makes the device a truly single handed device, the p800 jog was seriously under used as an input mode, whereas on the P9, it is doing ALL the functions it should. you dont always want to f**K about with stylus or other hand & the jog input on the p9 is the secret to success in my mind, its a shear joy to pick up the phone in a locked, "flip on" state & unlock it,use it & lock it again quickly, only using the jog. could not do that on the P8, which always anoyed me.

yeah yeah i know the phone has a jog dial, but it had been more handy with a joystick under the screen.

How ? When you hold the P900 in your hand I assume (since I do not have P900) the thumb is almost in the hight of the jog dail. It would be difficult to use a joystick with just one hand. Beside that, where would you place the joystick if you have the flip as well ?
