Winamp is actually a media player, the conversion thing is just an extra feature :-) i don't know this by heart, but i'll try to guide: you just have to download, install, run, open mp3s to convert, options > preferences > plug-ins > output and there should be something with 'wave' in it. click 'configure', select the destination folder for the wavs and activate the plug-in. Then just click the play button in the main window. It's normal that you won't hear anything, as the plug-in is now writing the wavs..

download cooledit and open an mp3 file...all you have to do is click "save as" then change the format to .wav so it's saves as a wav file......it's quite simple and u can get cooledit off kazaa....hope i helped you

Oh, if we're talking about heavy sound applications, I recommend SoundForge. It's much better and easier to use than CoolEdit imo... But it's kinda dumb to install monster apps like these just to convert an mp3 ;-)

help!!
i tried decoding some mp3 songs to wav but it gives me failed or file damaged message, i tried using differen programs but the same answer. i used alive and 4music converter programs(trial versions). how can i get ot listen ot the song before transferring. when i tried 2 play it gave me the error message!!!
P.S.also, if it encodes the song to wav it encodes it to 20 + meg files..whats happening?? i'm a bit lost!!!
