Did u guys know that the norwegian vikings used to plunder and rape in the UK? And then they blackmailed the UK athorety for leaving the contry. So the christmas three is the least we can do i say!

Very true, the Norwegians owne dparts of Scotland up until the middle ages when we kicked them out (no offence intended). Vikings are very cool, very very cool indeed. I like all the old Norse myths (mind you they do all originate from an Icelandic monastery).

I am no formalist. I noticed the topic sharply swerved away from P800 / P900 talk but the discussion was all too interesting for me to interrupt. I'm sure you guys all knew it was off-topic but so what?? I found it particularly interesting because I minored in European History at university and don't know as much about Scandinavia and the Northern countries as I would like to.

I ended up with a degree in history after a year spent studying astrophysics.
Late Roman/Early Christian history was a favourite of mine, especially with regard to western and northern europe.
Germanic/Norse history in general interests me greatly, l challenge anyone to go see The Ring Cycle and not become interested in Germanic/Norse history (Lord of the Rings works almost as well as Wagner).
