Well there goes that idea for expanding the Z1010! Take it the Z1010 gona be limited to 128MB MSD like the P900 then.

all this memory thing is great...but who the f**k needs 40Gb on a mobile phone when quite a lot of people only have that on there PC
[note: I have 120gb].
just think that to have a phone that can accept so much memory will cost lots of unnecesary $$research$$, but when a phone comes out everyone will complain about the price.

This thread is a theory not praticise. I agree thats way to much for a phone. It was an idea I had and wanted to know if it was possible only.

I doubt they would include this feature, as you could use a memory card reader with it, and then use other types of cards from Sony's memory sticks.

The usb plug in the phone is the small type that is normally used in small digital cameras. Then you have a cable with a small plug on one end and a normal plug on the other. It is technically possible to have an adapter, but then it all depends if the phone has the right drivers. So all you programers out there, make up happy! Imagine 40 gigs of the simpsons on your phone!

Another possibility for you might be a bluetooth hard drive? ISTR these being in development - I'm not sure how near production they are yet. This would save you having to have an unwieldy wire coming out of your phone!
