@arus, I just checked, it seems you are in Indonesia, do you know if they work with UK sims ?

Also, if you leave out the pin when you set up the sim, i think you dont have to put that pin in every time.

Yes, I am in Indonesia, As long as your original sim card is GSMMOU standard and compatible to v1, the you can scan and retrieve the encrypt data to copy to sim max III card. I bought Rp.450.000 (about US$53) at Jakarta. Your are right, if you leave the PIN disable then u dont have to entry the pin everytime switch the number, but this is risky in case you loose the phone. I used it for all indonesia gsm operator, singtel, sing-m1, my-maxis, hk-htl card. This message was posted from a WAP device

@Patchy, For a good result, i sugget you to scan the original sim just use Sim_Scan software by Dejan (http://users.net.yu/~dejan) then convert use Converter sw (request from sim-max web site). Dont use original software (include in package box) to scan original sim, since this sw got a possibility to destroy your orignal sim, beside it is faster to scan using sw from Dejan. regards GSM MoU

just for interest, this was taken from here and there are probably few, if any, carriers that are not part of this now...

"The GSM MoU Association, a Swiss registered Corporation, is the principle body responsible for promoting and evolving the GSM wireless platform world-wide. Today GSM is the most successful implementation of a global wireless standard. There are 293 members representing 120 countries/areas.

The overall objective of the GSM MoU Association is "The promotion and evolution of the GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 systems and the GSM platform for international roaming, for the provision of standardised services, as the core of other systems employing different wireless access methods, and as the core of new applications."

Membership is open to licensed mobile network operators committed to building and implementing GSM-based systems and government regulators/administrations which issue commercial mobile telecommunications licences. This includes GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900 and satellite operators."

@pachy, i will try to help you, but first of all try to find the nearest distributor at you site (find it at sim-max web site). As I know the most circulated gsm card are V1 and V1+, if this your original sim the you can crack/scan using sim_scan sw by Dejan. hope this help This message was posted from a WAP device

@arus, OK, i have got the downloads from that site, (nice diagram of how to make a reader) i have emailed sim-max, they quote $75 - $99 as a price, it seems high to me.

@Masseur, so it seems this format is internationally standardized then, only i heard tell that sims in UK changed around 1999.& that some multi sim systems were made redundannt, thanks for the link.

Where is the STK menu in the P800? So, has anyone confirmed that the P800 can switch numbers on the fly without powering down?? Can it receive calls from both at the same time? What about sending SMSs?
