Does the mobilefun solution work om Windows 2K? It is all I have available and I note the other solution needs W98/95 or XP.

Hi All,
I have a SE900 locked to T-Mobile (UK) that had the T-mobile branded software loaded when I orginally bought it. I took it to my local service centre who upgraded the phones software and when I got it back I had lost the T-Mobile branded software and the CDA number had changed from 162004/11 to 162003/8. After speaking with SE they said the version I now had loaded was the generic version.
I then tried to perform a upgrade using the sony ericsson update service over the internet but it failed saying my provider does not allow this. So I am guessing that as the CDA number has changed I am unable to perform the internet upgrade as the phone is locked to T-Mobile.
If I was to unlock the phone using the unlocking cable (DSC11) and remote locking software would I be able to update the phone via the sonyericsson service on the internet?
Thanks
msuk

@sukhrajm and all others who unbrand their phone and expect to update the firmware:
Basically every CDA defines a software version. So there is a unique CDA which Orange has and another which T-Mobile has and so on. According to CDA, the firmware will be installed with corresponding vendor logos / customization etc.
When a phone is unbranded, the CDA changes and so is the software (without logos etc). However, recently SE made changes to their online update service which checks the IMEI of your phone against the vendor (or CDA) which it was initially assigned to. So, irrespective of what CDA your phone has, the update service will identify and try to put the firmware which it was supposed to have initially.
So, what you see is that T-Mobile has not yet approved the latest firmware and hence you cannot upgrade online. The only option is to go to a SE service center.
I'm in a similar situation. Anybody knows of a SE cervice center in Central London where I can get my firmware upgraded to the latest while I wait (dont want to leave the phone for a couple of days)
Hope this information is useful for many
