Sequence of events:
Start MP3 player (flip open) - listen through speaker or headphones - turn up the volume - you hear the interference better!
now whilst listening....
open calendar from shortcut menu at top (crackle noise)
open contacts from shortcurt menu (crackle noise)
Go to Control panel - open SMan (crackle noise)
Swap between calendar and contacts using the shortcusts at top (not as much noise)
Broken or 'feature'?

This is not an hardware error but a CPU limitation, loading another app will take some CPU power away from the mp3 player so thats why u get the cracking sound, i had the same problem with my P800 but since im using the ogg player the problem is almost gone.
