a friend of mine has a nokia 6600, and according to nokia, that phone will only accecpt a 128mb SD card. He was told that if he got a 256mb card and copied the system files over (via card reader) that it would work. And it did! i have seen it my self. Even when he goes to the memory status option, it shows 256mb has anyone tried this with the P900?

MS Duo, and MS Duo PRO are 2 totally different standards.

That's like sticking a DVD into a 1st gen CD-ROM and wondering why it can't read it. DUH!

This topic has been discussed and debated over since the P800 came out... I can't believe people still ask the same questions, just rephrased. You can argue all you want on how "It fits, it should work." Then go ahead and try it! If you don't believe the manufacturer, and you don't believe previous posts, and you don't listen to current replies... then by all means... please, buy a 256 MS Duo PRO and try it!

The 128MB LIMIT has NOTHING to do with the firmware of the phone (P800/900) and has EVERYTHING to do with the limit of MS technology. The MS design never anticipated larger than 128MB for the whole thing. That's why Sony had to come up with the new "PRO" crap. Because of the inefficient design of the MS, they had to cover it up by marketing a 'better' memory stick. It's the design of the memory stick that's at fault, not the phone, or any device that uses MS technology.

Those stupid memory sticks (standard, not Duo) that have 256MB... check the back..it has a dumb hardware switch that you HAVE to remove the stick from the device... switch... then insert. You can't access 256 at once... it's basically just 2 128MB Duos crammed into a standard MS case with a dumb-a$$ switch.

I'm thankful to Sony for saving Ericsson financially... but that's it. Sony hasn't contributed anything in terms of R&D or technology. They've actually set all SE users back by locking SE into their stupid Fred-Flintstone MS technology.

the only reason Nokia state 128 limit on the shitty shit sixy hundred handset is because nokia only manufacture MMC cards to a limit of 128 however i use a 2GB one in mine with no problems and you just format the card in the handset.

and as for the p900 using duo pro please stop asking this question and let this thread die naturally.
