@KdP8
I think it is positive because Verm's post is about how the potential of a Pxxx can be exploited. Here at Esato we do help each other to solve problems, but it is also good to hear about how to get the maximum from these wonderful devices. Anyway - lets try to get back to the actual subject of this thread.
My defining moment is not as lucrative as Verm's. But it is special. I had to visit my mum who had just had a heart by-pass operation and was recovering at home. My mum loves her grand daughter (ie my daughter) but my daughter had a cold and therfore could not visit. So I decided to take a picture of my mum smiling using my P800. Then when I returned home I showed my daughter the picture. Now the wonderful thing is that she keeps asking to see the picture on the P800 - it makes her really happy! I wish I had the P900 at that time as I could have recorded a message from my mum to my daughter! Little things but very important.
Edit: @Universal Exports - I concur

wow that was a really moving post. I was intending to post something funny / sarcastic to vanquish the anti Vermanias! but that post cannot be followed by soemthing of that kind.
And i am only not nice to the dumb people (aka asking does duo pro work and is it true the p800 can record movie clips? use the god damn search! or your head!)
Any way back on topic any one else have a defining moment??

Mine was a few months ago. it isnt as cool, but.....
i was in the south island of new zealand, it was like 12.30 am and suddenly the house starts shaking like f**k. so everyone in my house runs outside screaming "EARTHQUAKE!!!" it was a bloody huge earthquake, and since that part of the country is long overdue an 8.0 richter or higher, i was quite honestly in fear of my life. i was worried that it was the predecessor of a cataclysmic quake, so i thought of seeing if i could get any info online. i did a search and found
http://www.geonet.org.nzi checked it out and found that the earthquake was a 7.1, about 100km away, and that since the epicenter was quite far away, any aftershocks would not be any bigger. thank f**k for that then! theres an image on the site which is updated every 5 minutes, it gives seismograph readings from all over the country and it looks pretty cool when viewed in full screen pictures. so with this, i could keep track of the magnitude of all the aftershocks, their distance and focal depth, and from that information, decide whether it was safe to put clean pants on yet.
it was a moment when my p800 was like a trusty companion, like that robot off lost in space, and offered a bit of comfort at a traumatic time.

Yes.. I inmit. I guess I got a bit fed up..
There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers. People come here to ask and hopefully get answered. The search is there, should be used more, sure! But it ain't gonna happen with that approach. Instead of "scaring" newbies away, why not help like polite people do. Or ignore, if their "newbie" questions bother you that much.
PS: If I was the only one with this opinin, I wouldn't bother to comment.

Please carry on..

theirs no stupid questions? no your stupid making comments like that.
Loads of people ask questions here which can be easily answered by the instruction mannual or by fiddling with the phone itis so damn simple most of the time. It takes more time to register and post than it would do to use your head!
many people seem not to be clever enough for a p800 or p900 theese people should stick to 7210's.

enough already guys! vermania does have a bit of a point...
anyway, my defining moment was being on holiday in turkey over the summer. my girlfriend and i had gone out for a meal, and it was such a perfect night we wanted a photograph taken. alas! we'd forgotten the camera, so it was p800 to the rescue. we got one of the waiters to take a couple of photographs. he was so impressed, he offered to buy my phone there and then for almost £1000! i declined, of course, but it kinda made me realise it is a pretty good piece of kit, and i felt real good knowing people were so envious of me having the phone.

@Vermania
If you're a smart guy, you'll learn something from this.
You wont gain any respect this way. Hey, don't listen to me,
scroll below your own "funny" answers in other threads.. It's *you* people are laughing at now.. If that doesn't bother you then I have nothing more to add.
