Why don't you just get your phone's firmware upgraded (if there is a new firmware already). You could always do the 'tricks' that you did before, to get that free memory back. And don't worry about the things that you loaded/installed in your phone, you won't lose them during the upgrade.

service point that something is wrong with your phone and you'd like it upgraded or at the least re-flash, because you believe that this might fix the problem.
