I've edited the single-ring US style old phone tone and made it into something that resembles an old UK style, two-ring tone.

It's not brilliant as I'm still working on it, but you can download the first attempt from:

http://www.notdavidbailey.com/old_british_phone.mid

You'll need a cable / IR / BT to get it on your phone, or use

http://www.euploader.com If you don't have a cable / IR / BT.

I'll post updated versions of the ringtone in this thread as they appear

EDIT: I've just discovered that you can download the ringtone to your phone directly via WAP. Just enter the following address:

As for the 70's trim phone ringtone, I'll have a go! It's a basic, high-pitched sound and so it should be possible to create a fairly faithfull reproduction in midi format. I'll get me tracker software going! Watch this space...

There was an excellent double ring one on the XDA2 but I don't have the phone now & have deleted my backups.

Maybe someone with an XDA2 can post it.

@cycovision: taht`s old all right, but that`s not british. the brit one is muffled and this one is not, seems to me like the fr4ench ring with a pause:-D I like it anyway, but i`ll search for the brit one as well;-)

I have an old bell phone which I can plug in and record using my P900.

Before I try this will the quality be OK? and will I be able to post it?

@701

Yeah, the brit ring does sound more muffled, I'm trying to mess around with the midi instruments to get it more like the brit one

I've searched bl**dy everywhere for a brit tone in midi format, I've only found it in realtone format so far don't think realtones work on t610

@ghengis

Not sure about the sound quality, but it's worth a try! Problem is, you can't use recordings as ringtones on a T610, not sure about other phones though.

If it does work for P900, you can put the tone on my website, if you like. That way, you can post it here for people to download. Send me a PM and I'll give you my email address so that you can email the tone to me and I'll stick it on my site

Found a 'ring-ring' tone here, but it's still not what we're after!

http://www.snigelpost.org/nonmusic.html

It's called 'standard mono ring (long and boring, you won't miss it)'
