Hum... that plan is so crazy it might just work vinnieza.
I guess on a guerrilla type warfare you could knowing ahead of time which stores are Bluejackassing, and then send bogus messages saying free stuff on that store therefore anoying the store employees to the point where they might give up.

I dont thing it would be too successfull as it only works in sending "Business Cards" and you are limited on how many characters you can use.

If I get bluejacked by any company I will never buy from them. Thats reverse marketing for you.

I always make a list of non-buy companies to get on that list you have to make a really bad or pathetic advertisment.

isn't there, yet...

Ah, but it depends upon WHAT the offer is.
OK, so 20% off from a clothes shop might not interest you but I'll bet there is a deal out there that would grab your attention.
Just think what you last bought from a shop and how you would have reacted to a special deal at the time.
We all hate spam because 99% of it is crap that we don't know where it comes from but if you know where the deal is from and it's relevent to you then I disagree that it would turn people off. Everyone can turn BT off if they don't want the hassle but everyone wants a deal - look at the thread on getting a P900 free !
Everyone has their price
Steve

You might think "I'll just turn bluetooth off." and that would be Ok.
But now suppose you meet a friend in the street and you want to exchange some pics/polys/whatever.
As soon as you turn bluetooth on, BAM! 10 messages arrive.
I don't think that, at least, the EU will allow this, 'cos this is a kind of invasion of privacy.
There will be limits surely.

Yup, vinnieza and fabrizio is right.
They can start using bluetooth for marketing purposes, but I doubt it if it would last. Time will come when 'clueless' shoppers won't know which is the real advertisement/discount from shops or a prank from bluejackers.
