I suggest actually trying a Sony Ericsson service centre instead of the mobile operator. SE should know how to fix it if it is possible.

I got the same problem with my T68i when I had problems with the gprs / mms setting wiped them and got new settings sent to me then it worked like a charm again w/o rebooting. Master reset is nice to solve problems sometimes but I guess its not an option to you since you dont even get in the phone the seconds it takes to perform it.

Hold the 'No' buton for 10-20 sec max when power is on. It will reset. Dont b afraid is not a master reset. If nothing happens take it to SE center and insist of fixing the problem. Am telling you to insist because they want to sell sell and sell all the time...
