Back in the summer me and the lads (four of us) decided to go on an epic roadtrip taking in Dover, Montpellier, Benidorm, Toulouse and Paris. We travelled 3000km in a Renault Laguna, and no less than 3 P800's were on the trip:

We started early once we reached Dover!

Has anyone else read this? Taken from hofo...

Could it be that the P800/900's :camera: actually has a 320x240 CCD and interpolates (scales) the picture to 640x480? oh:

I've always have felt that we where cheated to think that we have a 640x480 digicam in our P800/900 when in fact that's not true! :befuddled

Go ahead and buy one of those inexpensive Pencams at walmart and the images look exactly like the P800/900's and they actually state in their manuals that the images are scaled from 320x240 to 640x480 (or even 1024x768)!!!

Another clue is that at 640x480 you tend to see small lines at vertical angles (i.e. take a picture of a door, corner, frame, etc. and see their vertical contours and see what I mean.) :toilet: see zedd's picture #9 and notice the left and right side of the hood where the sun shines, the defect is clearly visible!

NOTE: This does not apply to T68i Digital Camera, which in fact takes better pictures than those from P800/900!

One more experiment:

Take a picture with your P800/900 at 320x240 resolution, transfer that picture to your PC and fire up Photoshop (or similar program) and scale the picture to 640x480... VOILA! you get much better results that the "native" P800/900 640x480 resolution!!!

(sorry for my bad english, I'm mexican )

Will have to test it out....

This is another good image using the camera in nightmode even though it is daytime i think the night mode gives better quality.
