Have you read the FAQ...???
There is nothing to fix,the clock is there for saving power.
...so there is no hope...!

Heh, having a 20 frame gif constantly running would drain your battery pretty fast. Besides, you can hardly see the screen with the light off. The way it is is fine, you get

I've read the FAQ, yes! Masseur told me to and I did.
SonyEricsson did not say "No, we're not going to remove the clock", they said that they didn't know if they were going to remove the clock... because of this I do believe there is hope.
By the way, how the hell can a clock screensaver save power? Wouldn't the phone save more power if the display was turned off?

BOSSHOGG:
Yes, the way it is now is fine. But why is there a "screensaver" option on the phone if you can't use it as it's supposed to be used?
I asked SE if they can fix the clock to be an option, clock ON, clock OFF. This way ppl who want to use another screensaver can use one and will have to charge their phones more often. And the ones who want to keep the clock can do that. I don't see anything bad about that, do you?

It'll never happen. The block only uses about a third of the diodes on the screen at any one time. A screensaver user up loads of processing power too. And a static picture does actually cause temporary screen burn.

Actually, I kind of like it the way it is now. The screensaver is activated when you lock the keypad (on newer firmwares), so it's like a "bye-for-now" feature...

Hi there,
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but thats what happen when the "Search" feature of the forum is used
Was just wondering for some time (knowing well that as off now the clock cannot be put off) would it be possible to change the colour of the font of the clock? I mean, right now, the clock comes on and then the screen goes so dark that I could hardly see the clock. The benefit is therefore lost.
Again, I am aware that pressing the + on the side of the screen lets me see the time, but isn't that a kinda pain. If only the colour could be made White or something, maybe we could still see the time while it floats around

Would a change of theme help?
Cheers

A change of theme would NOT help.
The clock, no matter what colour, would still be very hard to see once the backlights switch off. In any case you cannot change the colours on the clock.
So no go there I'm afraid.
