T68m was released commercially late october-01. In another tread here at Esato the earliest T68's was made W39-01.(Mine is W43 -bought it nov-3.rd).
I have seen T68i's from W10-02, so they have had a production-overlap of a couple of weeks before they stopped producing T68m. I don't find it strange that they stopped the production since the differences are just cosmetic and SW.(Just two more weeks and we get the same SW).

mine say made by ericsson on the sticker on the hp
but say made in japan finished in malaysia on the battery..
so where is it made ??japan ??

Not in most Asian countries, except Japan and maybe a couple others though I doubt it.
Can always look at the middle 2-digits for the IMEI for country of origin, I guess.
