This "Le Pen" problem has been around for quite a long time.
The last presidential election, they got around... 15-20%!! (I don't recall the exact figures). So it's not new.
But people are just hypocrits. Now, everybody is scandalized because Le Pen is going to the 2nd round. Reality finally showed up to the eyes of many who were just ignoring it before. A guilty one is certainly the press that hardly talked about Le Pen earlier, and they probably think they will feel more comfortable talking against him now. Hypocrits! This should have taken place much earlier. Socialists who -I'm happy- were so nicely kicked out in the first round are blaming the right side for having brought Le Pen. C'mon! Socialists (the government) would have done something earlier, the situation might not have been that bad. It's even them, the socialists, namely Mitterand (b*stard), who raised Le Pen in, was it 81?, so that socialists get relatively more vote than Chirac, hence ensure their victory. But blaming each other is no solution to the real problem. Rather than talking bullshit all the time, they should do things.
But politics do think about themselves first rather than thinking about the people who claim loud by their vote what the situation is. Now, French politics are in a deep crisis, and I hope the situation will finally turn good.
I'm not quite happy Le Pen got such a strong percentage. Yet, in a way I'm happy, because I do hope it will finally wake up many if not everybody.

Quote:It is entirely the fault of the French people. He half of the people who are protesting now voted when they had a chance there would not be any Le Pen racing for presidency....Politician underestimated the frustration they caused to the people. But shame on the French that didnt take their destiny seriously.Hope this woke some of them up...vive la France et les vrais français!Allez voter et soyez sages...
C'mon. Stop repeating what TV, newspapers say. This is bullshit!
There was a bit more than 60% of the population voting for this 1st round of the election. Even if some people didn't go and vote (which is contrary to the duty of every single French citizen, but nevermind, I don't care:) ) 6x% of people voting is a very reliable statistic data: this makes millions of people everywhere around France, and is therefore a very reliable sample of the population. 80% of votants wouldn't have changed anything. 100% wouldn't have changed anything either.
You will probably see the numbers in the 2nd round. More people will go voting, there is no doubt. And although I hope Le Pen score will be ridiculous, I'm almost certain it will still be about 20% (i.e. same as for the 1st round, cumulating both extreme rights candidates).

I think he is a good guy to have around. Every country should have a radical like him - maybe not in the ruling seat but just to make people think how lucky they are to have a government that is not radical. That way they will appreciate the problems in other places where there are radical governments - like former Afghanistan and present Burma!
In most cases so call 'radical' politicians do make people sit up and think twice - what do you guys feel?

Sorry for not answering sooner, but been busy! Even though it's funny that it is now i'm answering, now that Pim Fontayne or something like that
, is murdered! He was talking about the same problems that Le Pen is talking about. Maybe not so radical as Le Pen is/was doing it, but still down the same ally... The problems, as I see it, is that too many people is coming to our countries in the (very understandable) hope to achieve a better life... but when they're here they are having a very big problem with adapting to our societys. It's especially the muslims with who I see the problems. And it is not because I don't like muslims. I know alot, and live in a city known for its variety of cultures! But Islam has one very big difference from our western society, and that is: religion isn't seperated from politics, which makes it very different from the society I live in, and the moral values im living after!
Another problem is that everytime someone tries to talk about this problem, the radical on the left wing yells: racist!!
This makes the ones on the right picking out a situation where someone with a dark skin has done something wrong, which in 9/10 times is a tiny little bit of the group, but now the discussion is down the drain, and then its only people like Le Pen, Pia Kjærsgaard, Jörg Haider, Pim Fontayne, that dares to talk about it, because they can't lose anything from it. If Chirac was being half as critical as Le Pen his political carreer would be dead right away.
Im not saying im agreeing with Le Pen, but i understand why so many people voted for him!

We have the same problem going on here in California, but you can’t blame it on a certain racial group. We have gangs, but they aren’t just Black or Mexican, they even include Caucasian groups as well (Who probably do the most damage). So blaming a certain group for problems would be rather stupid
Although, I find this place more multi-cultural than any place in the world, other than New York, and I think we are doing pretty well with it.
And I’ve seen the gang activity in France and Germany, and they weren’t just "Arabic", they looked pretty white to me, setting cars on fire, burning trashcans in front of homes and running off, and throwing rocks on passing cars while hiding in the dark. This I heard was a common thing in France, which I found odd, because our brutal stupid LAPD would hunt them down like the dogs they are and beat them with there batons
