I'm not sure we have to do anything except install the mbm file. The site says about using the mbmconv.exe to turn the bmp files into one mbm file, which is what Daz and the other site have.
However, I noticed a couple of other posts of people saying it did not work , and somebody thought the firmware version of the phone may not allow this to work....certainly with ALL the mbm files I've tried in C:\system\data, I still get the standard font.

Well why dont you just get the latest firmware version? I know it works with that. And if you can stick any .mbm there and nothing happens well it means your firmware isn't even looking there. If it was and the .mbm wasn't right it would crash your phone everytime the clock tried to load.
Hope that explains everything.

I've tried this, but every time I try the online updater, my O2 P900 says it has the latest version . I know I could take it to a CPW, but there's none in the city that do on the spot repairs.
no big deal, and I appreciate you taking the time to post this, it just seems that for some reason it doesn't work on some versions of the firmware...I was hoping there might be a way round it. - oh well.
thanks again for replying.

Well I'm not sure if the file name on the old firmware is different, if you can find the correct .mbm in your A or Z drive, then you could try renaming it to that is it is different. If it isn't different then I can't think of a way, sorry.

Aha - Sorted it. Found the two 'original' files on my Z: drive, called SCREENBLANKERAMPM and SCREENBLANKERNUMS. Couldn't rename them, they seem to be protected. However, I DID rename DAZ's file to be the same (i.e. without 'LARGE' on the end), in C:systemdata, and Bob's your uncle, it works!
The only problem is the screen saving part that moves the clock around the screen sends part of the big clock OFF the screen sometimes (or part of it disappears), still an improvement though.
Thanks for your help guys
Vince

No problem.
I used the "sman" utilities' file manager to look through all the folders on my P900, and luckily found two mbm files on my Z: drive with SIMILAR names to DAZ, SCREENBLANKERAMPM and SCREENBLANKERNUMS, but Daz's file was called SCREENBLANKERNUMSLARGE.
I then thought if the P900 looked for "SCREENBLANKERNUMS", Daz's file would be wrong. So using the file manager, I renamed the two files in C:\system\data to be SCREENBLANKERAMPM and SCREENBLANKERNUMS. These seem to now be found INSTEAD of the ones in Z:, and so I'm getting the bigger font.
Summary:
Download the and SCREENBLANKERNUMSLARGE.MBM and SCREENBLANKERAMPMLARGE.MBM to your PC. Rename these to SCREENBLANKERAMPM.MBM and SCREENBLANKERNUMS.MBM, THEN put these files into C:\system\data and the P900 should find these ones, not the Z: ones.
Hope this helps
Vince
P.S. Note that the big font goes 'off the screen' as it is moved about by the screen saver, so the time isn't always visible!

Dazbadbury & vincet610,
Most excellent of you to provide such a cunning way to avoid squinting at my beast when I wish to know the time.
Cheers,
Koresh
