Many say it's hardware and some stubborn people refuse to acknowledge this and says that it is software... me? No clue at all. We will just have to wait and see instead of creating new posts with this all the time.
Would be more cool to read "PRO card now works for P900" then "Does pro work with P900?"
Time will tell. Don't waste anymore breath on it until it's on the market.

MSPro is hardware and not software incompatible with p800/p900!! That's why a p800/p900 will NEVER be able to use an MSPro. The only compatibility that exists is the backward compatibility that devices that use MSPROs have with MSs so they can use them.
Sorry for any1 that was disappointed!.

Id say it is sortware still.
Because i got a older sony vaio that was released before any PRO memory sticks were out, but there is an update frimware for reading and writing PRO sticks. But it says it does support the fast writing on the PRO that can offer on it.

What technical knowledge can you provide us to support that statement? There is no documentation that SE has published to explain why the Pxxx is limited to 128mb. I have spoken to a few dev reps that has not supported your idea that it's a hardware limitation. Memory stick makers have published documents stating that the DUO PRO format can be accepted through firmware upgrades by some devices. Now that is a fact and I have documentation to back that up. There's a member that just stated that his VAIO gained PRO acceptance simply through a firmware upgrade. That is plausible because it is very much possible. If the Pxxx is truely limited to 128mb and you're claiming it's hardware limitation please do explain how. Don't worry about speaking in technical jargon because a lot of us do have the technical background to understand your explanation. So please enlighten us.
I'm not claiming that the Pxxx will ever support the DUO PRO format, but SE certainly hasn't addressed that issue. So this scenerio is definately plausible. Here's a chart showing the classes of memory sticks. If you look at where the bi-directional arrows point there's also an explanation that shows how one class could gain compliance (firmware upgrade) to another format.

I've been browsing this forum for several months, but only felt inclined to register and post on reading this thread. So, hello everyone.
I believe the MS Duo Pro thing is is an issue which can be fixed in software, for both the P800 and the P900.
My reason for this? I used to be a Sony Clie user, and these PDAs supported Memory Stick. When the MS Pro was released, none of the Clies available at the time supported it, susbsequent high-end Clies do.
A patch was released to enable PalmOS 5.x Clies to use MS Pros.
Hope that offers you all a glimmer of hope.

Just a question that will enlighten our questions:
Has any1 ever seen a memory stick (even duo) with capacity more than 128 MB? There isn't and there will never be! Even some MS's that claim to be 256 MB are ms with 2 banks of 128 MB which can be accessed seperately. I used to do beta testing for ericsson (older phones) and i know many people and technicians, i also do computer maintenance for a se service center... I know from them that for some reasons the ms socket of p800 and p900 in not able of reading ms duo pros. Thats the same thing that happened with the multi-card readers for pcs... Old ones cannot read ms-duo pro in their ms socket. So they made new ones that can. Propably in the next major upgrade of P900 (propable name p1000) there will be a ms duo pro socket.
So you'll just have to wait....
