I don't complain that T68i is slow. When talking, the speech moves as quickly as it is ment to be Ok, maybe the menu does not react the fastest way - but do you use the mobile phone for talk/sms/gprs or just to press buttons with no purpose?

Mobile phone is not a racing car, I guess.

I's satisfied with my t68i.It's not the fastest phone on the world - big deal. It's great.
And you cannot compare t68i with Blokias...
That's impossible...

@spoooky : Use the search! All these questions have been discussed over and over again... and now once more.

@ others in this thread: Its nice of you to help the newbie but it would be nicer of you to show him how to use the search and/or give him some nice threads where he can find the answer. The quality of posts will otherwise continue to degrade

EDIT: And before someone says I'm not very helpful myself I'll give a link to where the latest t68i Sw rev is discussed R8A015

i just recently purchased a sony ericsson t68i here in norway and i am loving it. however, i find the phone to be very slow, almost like a lag, compared to other cellphones ive used. is it supposed to be like this, or is there a patch or update that will fix this?

Friend,
after one year experience with t68i, I can say that this phone is quite slow (compared to the other model) and I don't think software upgrades can solve this problem (correct me if I'm wrong). Right now I have R8A015 and I don't think I notice any speed acceleration on menus access. Still laging, even compared to the other ericssons and SEs.
So if you want faster menu access, then I think you'll have to change to newer models of SEs (e.g T610, T630, or the next T650) which (I think) packed with better software and memory space.

regards...

I'm a t68i user, and I love the phone. Yes it's slow when it starts up, takes a few seconds to be able to open the phone book or make a call, but other than that it's great. I've dropped it a number of times, and no problems.

The T68(i) is THE slowest phone I have ever used... and I have used a lot of phones.

I honestly can't fathom why anyone would want to state otherwise, unless somehow trying to defend their particular phone from criticism. Quite silly really.

I used one on a daily basis for about a year, always updating to the latest firmware whenever available, and by the end was ready to smash the bloody thing into the wall. Powering the phone up takes ages, and you have to wait for literally about 2 minutes for the phonebook to be accessible instead of a fucking annoying "Please wait..." box.

Writing texts is like an excercise in pre-emptive cognition, in other words you ahve no clue what's going on as the phone is 5 words behind you.

And don't get me started on the excruciatingly long wait for the SMS inbox to open. And if you have more than 40 messages in there, make sure you haven't made any plans for the rest of the day.

Shame, as it's a very nice phone, but it really is rendered almost unusable by the woefully slow user interface.

Oh, and to whoever said you can't compare it to a Nokia... err... "the T68 is far slower than ANY Nokia phone, fact"... oops, looks like I just have.

Scrap the T68 and get a T610, in another league entirely.

I'm not trying to defend mine, but I don't think so. I save all sms in my phone (SIM memory is empty), and my inbox open just as fast as nokia phones (sorry for the comparison).

@Spooky
Forget to mention, some of the threads mention that using the classic theme help accelerate your T68i though u'll lose a fancy feature, but that's work for me.

T68i is indeed slow... if you are using the latest firmware (R8A015), as I do. I just borrowed a colleagues T68i and found that it was quite fast navigating. His firmware revision was R2B025.

I think it's time to downgrade
