well I have a T630 with chinese on it (as well as English) but I dare not change the language in case I cannot get back, and in any case I wouldn't know about entering chinese characters. sorry I can't help wit that.

but I can confirm that on receipt of an email you get a sound and it vibrates

Yeah but its only on T-mobile. They have got all teir stupid logos everywhere on the phone and it totally ruins the look..shame.

well the second last character means china/chinese i think. my dad is learning and knows a little bit of chinese and told me some stuff!

Thanks for going to the trouble massuer ..

I think it has the character set, at least better than the EU ver of SE phone. I will look into getting one from HK too!
