Absolutely, the price is much lower now. Only problem is I can still go out and buy a PDA with GPS receiver and Tom Tom 2 for the same money, and then I won't have to pay another 100 euro in a year...
Wayfinder need to decide if they want the bucks here and now, or over the years the buyer will be using the software. Right now they want both, and it just doesn't work that way...

Yes, but do you get free map updates and full coverage of western europe with Tomtom for the same price?

I have Wayfinder with the P910 and use it with the Parrot ck3300 BTcar kit. The software cost 120 GBP and yes there is another fee after 12 months, all map upgrades are included and i find the support from wayfinder second to none, they will bend over backwards if you have a problem which is great with this type of kit as there are usual problems getting all to work first time.. following a few connection problems all works well and now i'm very pleased with it, i use it every day and find the mapping directions and voice navigation to be precise and 9 times out of 10 to be spot on. I have the P910 mounted on the dash next to the steering wheel which is necessary as you can clearly see and follow the directions as you drive as well as hear the voice instruction through the P910 speaker which is very clear, and for me it is loud enough as long as you have the windows closed.. It is ideal for me as i did not want several gadgets in addition to the P910 in the car e.g PDA, extra holders and GPS receivers. The Parrot kit, Wayfinder and the P910/P900 can do it all..

That sounds great, I think Wayfinder is the best option for me. I travel alot by car in Sweden and Germany in business, so I think it will fit like a glove!

Yes i have a mobile phone!!? and the GPS receiver is part of the Parrot kit fitted to the car and is not mobile (it stays with the car) I have no need for a seperate mobile GPS unit, although i can off course buy a seperate GPS receiver if i ever feel i need one. Another advantage for me with the Parrot GPS is that you do not have to keep putting it on charge as it it constantly powered through the car battery, also it is something you cannot forget to take with you.

reuten,
Don't get me wrong. I already have the map version of Wayfinder and I seriously consider buying the GPS package. But that doesn't change the fact that it still is a rather expensive solution. Especially considering that the competition offers a PDA included in the package for the same price!
If I do buy the Wayfinder GPS package, it's because I like the format of the P900 more than oversized PDA, certainly not because I find the pricing competetive.
To make the package more attractive, they could:
1. Give you 3 months of subscription instead of 1
2. Make the subscription fee monthly, instead of annual. If you are using this level of technology, it's hard to say if you will be using the same hardware during a whole year.
3. Generally lower the prices!
I have been in discussions about the Wayfinder prices before, and back then there were also pros and cons, but the fact remains that they DID lower the prices. Since Wayfinder is a business and not a charity, this means that they have accepted the fact that their prices are too high. With this step they have done a lot to change that, but they are not fully at the goal line yet. Just watch discussions on other boards and you will see...

Ok, yes you are probably right.
I had the map version before too. I think that is why I've decided to choose this solution as you said, why use a oversized PDA.
I have agree to your opinion on the price, but I think its still worth it.
I'm seeing it this way,
The total package contains:
Phone
PDA
E-mail client
Internet
GPS-navigator
in ONE piece!
Isn't that great?
I will pick up my start package on monday...I'm looking forward to it...

Yes, that certainly IS a great package. Just remember that you have (most likely) already paid quite a lot for the P900...
Anyway, congrats on your upcoming GPS system. Please let us know if it lives up to your expectations. Even though Denmark isn't that big, I am still very good at getting lost, so I am looking for some sort of GPS too

Hi, I just bought the WayFinder Euronavigator package 2 days ago and use it with my P910i and Rikaline BT GPS module... So far it is working perfectly and I will try to give more info after some more use...
I really am happy with another step in my hunt for as few devices as possible for my MobileDigitalLifestyle
