Once someone solves the problem for one device it does not take long to solve the problem for another device. TI have produced a chip that supports GSM/GPRS, BT and WiFi. I think it is only a matter of time, as it always is with technology that has a market attractiveness. I would be happy to pay a premuim for a wiFi capable mobile phone.

Yes, but since Symbian can't even get their BT implementation straight, I have little hope for WiFi.

What about a stand alone WiFi/BT device? That isn't unreasonable...

Problems with delivering complex technology devices (cutting edge) is not confined to Symbian or SE. I have owned a Nokia 6310i and even that had BT s/w problems. I have a Clie Plam running what should be a mature OS (ver 4.1) but even that is not perfect (useless at virtual memory management, which works like a treat on Symbian devices). In fact, until recentlty there were no web browsers for Palm that compared to Opera for Symbian - and remember Palms are sold in millions all around the world. Can't think of a single technology product company that has not made bad mistakes ( even Sony has had to recall UX-50s because of faulty screens).

Wifi is not hard on battery life! If it knocks 10mins off my battery life on my laptop thats pushing it. And it is a Sony, just for comparison! pity I aint got a P900 to go with it, they would match nicely!
