behave maturally and ur more likely to get it back. DO press charges cos its the only way that lil f**ker will learn. ask his mom abt and also tell ur parents: showing ur more mature than that other kid will convince ppl that ur tellin the truth.
i know wat its like 2 have summat nicked which is as expensive as that (im 14 and had my p8 stolen, luckily t was insured)
hope it works out!

Nightmare! Sorry to hear about your loss; I would be completely lost without my P900. Hmmm.. I think you'll need to keep your P900 (once you get it back) closer to yourself. Hope it all works out okay (did you cancel your network contract?).

Give him the choice, tell him you "are" getting it back, it's up to him how easy or hard to make it.

Important,
GET HIM ALONE to do this,
NEVER threaten a level of violence that you are not prepared to carry out,
act fast,
be very firm but friendly,
minimise your words,
DO NOT argue,
DO not give a deadline.
let his imagination do all the work.

Use these rules, it is an effective way to deal with all kinds of situations without either side loosing face.
not only will you get your phone back but you will get lots of respect, remember not to be tempted to boast about how you did it to other friends, this will loose you respect.

I know its not much help but you should contact your network provider and get them to temporary suspend the imei on the handset. When the thief finds he cant use it, he be more likely to hand it back. I agree that you should continue with police action regardless of the outcome. You should also intimidate him by deliberately being nearby him when you can(always have someone with you) GOOD LUCK GETTING YOUR P900 BACK !!!! This message was posted from a P800

I agree with pachy, you have the moral high ground and you should use it to best effect. I would appeal to him and his mother first, be nice and be friendly; you can use your option of pressing charges as a bargaining tool. If that fails then you should be prepared to use any means necessary (within the law of course) to obtain your phone. If the chap is proving unreasonable and you are definitely sure of his guilt then you should most definitely press charges. A night spent in a police cell just might be eough to make him think twice; then hopefully he will relent and you can drop the charges.
Perhaps you can muster a group of supporters and put some pressure on this chap; no need for actual violence, just some intimidation tactics.
As a last resort, in case you are unable to get the phone back, you could instigate a scorched earth policy; whereby you phone the mobile operator and have your phone blocked, thus rendering it useless to the thief.
It used to be that such a cad would have had his buttocks soundly thrashed with the cane, unfortunately those days are gone. I wish you all the best and please do let us know what happens.
