Actually, there's no reason why a phone could not have a good camera... This message was posted from a T616

It is shit though ! Thats the truth... My CLIE UX40 actually has a better camera than the P800 (presuming that P900 has same camera) so really, camera is USELESS... even for fun... I actually got really pissed off because I thought I could save some money by using the Digital camera when I got my P800 to take regular pictures of Items I sold on ebay but it is really rediculously bad! I was supprised... Needed to stash out extra cash just to get a new digicam! Even a £100 digicam is EASILY 10x better than the phone cameras ... unless you compare them to the J-Phones (docomo phones) - which incidentally are about 2MP and can be used as a camera replacement.

the P900 pictures are dark, nokia ( spit spit ) seem to have much lighter pictures? like what you actually see. ericsson need to pull fingers out and either build in a flash or get that plug in flash for the T6** ,I can't remember the model, to work with all their camera phones. why not sort firmware so the P***'s can use it??? i get embarressed at my phones picture taking inabilities ( and my spelling ) at parties in dull light conditions. nokias ( spit spit ) work fine at the same venue.

Did you check the CommuniCorder preferences for the various still photo profiles (Auto, Indoor, Outdoor, etc...)? It seems the default is Medium Quality. Selecting 640x480 and High Quality definitely improves picture quality, although still not as good as an entry level digicam.

Just a thought. Either way it's still easier to carry my P900 in my pocket instead of a Minolta, and it does come in handy for those "Candid Camera" moments when recording the action is more important than producing A4-sized images.
