Stupid question but for receiving calls during gprs, must the double call activated ?

I ask it cause I've only a prepaid card so single line. Tried before with T68 but didn't succeed.
Tried now with P900 and still busy when I'm using GPRs.

Anybody has info ?

No, the gprs problem has nuthin'2do with the double call feature. U have to be able to get calls while using gprs unless...foe example here, we can't use agprs data on a prepayed unless u have a dedicated prepayed for data but on which u can't get calls.Just gprs.Check with ur operator cuz it might be network related.I don't understand why u'd wait a week to get a straight answer here than calling ur Customer Service , pay a few $ on the call and find out what's wrong. They r obligated to sort it out u know...

I have tried emailing to my service provider but there was no reply from them...

so I tried calling the service hotline, but the customer service couldn't give me a straight answer...

here's what she said:
"...we never seems to have this sort of complain before...have u checked your phone settings?...it could also be that the phone you are using is having some problem...could it be also that you have mistakenly set some parameters in your pc that results in this problem?....*blah blah blah...

personally, I felt that she doesn't even know what she's talking about...

anyway i just have to live with it for a while and hope that nobody calls me during when i'm using gprs session...

Hi folks
ill have to agree with passerby, the same is the case with me, whereas i use a p900. when gprs is active and im using the inbuilt tools like the internet browser or 3rd party browsers like opera or agile messenger, I get the call through, but when i connect it to the laptop i cant get the connection through.

Just drawing conclusions from what has been posted on this thread already:

It would seem that voice calls will interrupt GPRS, unless data is being transmitted. Therefore, if you are using any application of GPRS that requires constant transmission of data (e.g. phone as PC modem(!)), you ain't getting any calls!

Dunno what the specs of Class B GPRS are but it seems fairly straight forward to me.

@dave_uk
Wat u say is straight. My doubt is that when im browsing the net using the internal browser and there is gprs transmission, I can get incoming calls, whereas when i connect the phone as a modem and there is gprs transmission I dont get a call. Is there any difference between the transmissions of gprs when used inside and outside the phone.

Pls explain.
thanx in advance

TBH, I'm not entirely sure - there are many more knowledgeable than me round here on the technical side....but, maybe if the transmission is initiated by the phone, GPRS can interrupt, whereas if the connection is activated from a PC, phone loses capacity to do this.
Must be something to do with your PC connection, or the modem functionality of the handset.

Point is, I think this is just the way it is - doesn't sound like anything's faulty, so doubtful there's anyway to change it....

....roll on the next firmware!

hi guys,

i have been doing so homework on this after i encounter this problem...

here is something extracted from a Website:
Quote:
Class A
Class A mobile phones can be connected to both GPRS and GSM services simultaneously.

Class B
Class B mobile phones can be attached to both GPRS and GSM services, using one service at a time. Class B enables making or receiving a voice call, or sending/receiving an SMS during a GPRS connection. During voice calls or SMS, GPRS services are suspended and then resumed automatically after the call or SMS session has ended.

Class C
Class C mobile phones are attached to either GPRS or GSM voice service. You need to switch manually between services.

it seems that only CLASS A phones are able to be handle both GSM and GPRS traffics simultaneously...
