Well, it was just an ordinary walkie-talkie function in a phone. PoC is "Push to talk over Cellular". That function in R250 had nothing to do with GSM-network.

Perhaps you are having difficulty understanding the technology. This IS directly comparable to the new service. Of course it doesn not use GPRS to transfer the data, cause that was not available at the time.

This is the first Push to talk implementation in a GSM handset, end of discussion. Yes, the technology has evolved, and yes, it is now available to a broader audience, but this was still there first. Therefore, the point of the thread starter is made moot.

What was the part in my post that you didn't understand?! As I said earlier, that "walkie-talkie" works in PMR network, not in GSM network. So, it has nothing to do with PoC, which was first introduced in Nokia 5140 for GSM networks. That Ericsson is just a normal "walkie-talkie" with GSM phone in it or actually vice versa.
