Has anyone else been given the wrong battery by the CPW ? Come on lads, step forward now and be counted with the rest of us.
Its a bad show, really it is. Those blighters have been stung by the P900 'scam' and now they are trying to claw it back from their loyal customers. I for one will not stand for it. I plan on marching into one of their branches later on today and having it out with them. No doubt they will give me a lot of rot, but I mean to have my say.
What ho pachy old fruit, you haven't half missed some real boring threads. Wish you'd been there old boy. It was pretty damned close for a while, we really ran close to the edge, but we managed to pull through somehow. The Bosch almost had us, but me and a few of the lads managed to see them off. This latest Bosch scam won't go without a fight I'll wager and I will make sure they get a crushingly good smack on the chops. Huzzah!

What monetary equivelant does 260mAh have these days? Did you hear about the baker who made his scones glow in the dark? He used electric currants.

I want my 260 mAh, I wouldn't be averse to one of their staff coming round to my house and running on a wheel attached to some elctrodes, in turn atatched to my P900, until they had produced the required amount of energy.
Its a damned disgrace I tell you!

Pray tell, what is this P900 scam to which CPW have fallen prey?

Its not so much a scam, well I suppose it is really isn't it? People were getting P900s from them (for free I believe) on the understanding that they would remain on Orange's £50 per month tarriff for three months after purchase. However, people who took part in this simply phoned Orange and asked to have their tarriff reduced to whatever they wanted almost as soon as they were out of the CPW shop. There were no stipulations in either Orange's or the CPW's contracts saying that this could not be done, so in effect the CPW was loosing money because they were then required to pmake up the short fall that Orange experienced because of the lowering of tarriffs.
I believe that this was the case, however, pachy will be much more able to explain this to you. As an aside, I believe that the contracts have now been changed to stop this from happening, however, I could be wrong on this point so do not take it as gospel.

Yes, that pretty much covers it, basically between early November & early January it was possible to get an Orange p900 from CPW for free on a £100 a month contract, but you could downgrade the day you got the phone to a £10 a month tariff so you didn't even have to pay the first month at £100, so provided you already had an Orange siimcard (pay as u go or a contract sim) you got to obtain a P900 for £120 (because you have to pay the £10 for a minimum of 12 months)
Lots of us bought a few & sold them on for large profit, (the going rate on the street in November for a P9 for people not "in the know" was £550 a piece).
CPW have added a clause to cover this loophole, but you can still do it, but they may come to you for the money,
@scotsboy, that battery thing is very dodgey & a hard one to prove, but the larger battery IS standard equipment isnt it, i would be very angry if that happened to me.

@Scotsboyuk
So what was the outcome, did you get your battery replaced then?

I dont think there is a 1260mAb battery for P900 available other than when bought with the phone. I have shopped around and the spare ones available are all 1000mAb, I guess there for when spares are shipped out to CWH they are getting them from the same stock, which would make sence. I dont think you will get a 1260mAb one new. bummer

The 1000mAh is what the P800 used I think, so sounds like you have a battery from old stock
