@JohnM, did you use the radio mute function. If so, where did you purchase it from and is it really needed.
I am also planning to buy the BT car kit, but may not connect it the radio.
thanks.
I used the radio mute wire from the HCB30s main loom (yellow wire) and connected it to my Sony MD head units radio mute wire. When I make or receive a call the radio volume is cut to very minimum till the call ends.
@Dave - voice commands are great with it, I'm very impressed with the kit.

Does this mean that i do not need the Sony Ericsson HCE-16 Advanced Music Mute.
My Car system, Pioneer Keh-9700rds has the telephone mute wire in the main loom.

If your car stereo has a mute wire then you only need to connect the mute wire from the HCB30s main loom (yellow) to your stereos mute wire.

You only need the advanced music mute if you want to channel the phone calls through your car stereo speakers, otherwise the calls will go through the small speaker that comes with the HCB-30. This will still mute the stereo sound during a call however.
I'm using the HCB-30 with the advanced music mute with a Z600, used it with a P800 and T68i before that, all worked fine.

l find the standard speaker more than adequate, it's very loud and I haven't had an instance where l've not been able to hear someone even at speed or on noisey roads.

I haven't used the small speaker, got the whole thing installed same time as the music mute, just didn't want an extra bit of kit around.
The HCB300 sounds ok, the auto switching profile colour thingy sounds like a good idea, but available Q3 2004? I'd translate that as a year from now.

As a vehicle technician I installed my HCB30 myself. The speaker supplied isn't big at all, and is loud with good sound quality IMHO. In my car you can't even see it where I mounted it. Guess it all depends what you want from your carkit.
