a digital zoom isnt really a zoom at all. it just makes pixels super big and super cruddy. what the hecks the point? you could get the same effect by pointing in the rough direction and then altering it in photoshop or...shudder.....MSpaint. After all the camera doesnt suddenly gain the ability to create more pixels out of thin air.
the only zoom worthwhile is an optical zoom and the day a company works out a way to implement this they'll be laughing all the way to the bank!
or until someone works out how to take zoomed pics through a contact lense.

phillips worked out an optical lens for phones, i read that a few weeks ago, so in the future i'm sure SE will be the first to have them, because of the good relation ship between phillips and ///

Exactly meatmcmuffin, took the words right out of my mouth! It really annoys me when people boast about digital zooms, or in the case of the P900 complain about the lack of digital zoom, they're not that useful.

In the grand scheme of things not only will se not beat the p900 for a long time but i dont think many manufacturers have a chance against se. i mean the current pack of phones from the other manufactures are laughable when compared to what the p800 achieved a year ago!
Siemens - There best effort the SX1 had a kerazy (ie, unusable) keypad and by changing the keypad in the update they lost the only thing worth buying this phone for. I dont think they have much lined up except more washing machines and concept phones. im betting that their concept phones'll be so kerazy that id rather ring people from one of their irons. When its plugged in.
Motorola - Moto who? What? Rolo? No thanks, just ate.
Nokia - As "nokia rokia" pointed out amazingly in his forum posts (jabra games!), nokia users are the largest but most clueless user base. ie,
"My Nokia burns DVDs!"
"Yeah? well mine can be used as an electric-free time machine!"
"Yeah? well mine makes phone calls. uh...i think....ooh..polymatronics....."
I dont think they could operate a smartphone when most nokia users want something they can play EVERY ONE OF THEIR POLYBLOODYPHONIC ringtones on. in a row. on the train. in your ear. Plus their keypads are like Siemens - so kerazy that ya cant use them, it took several months before nokia redesigned their most popular phone becasue noone could use it. clap clap.
Sharp / Panasonic - In europe these are relative unknowns and Sharp's smartphones will fail miserably. Why? because saying Sharp Smartphone makes my brian hurt.
im so gonna get flamed..i can feel it

P900 is the top phone on the market by a long shot!
Just to see random peoples faces when you are tapping the touch screen keypad..Oh the envy..
Iv even had groups of people stand round me astonished at the phones shear capabilities..No nokia has such power! Long live P900 the nokia is DEAD!..

Hate to diasagree with what has been said but I am going to hold my verdict until the new Motorola MPX is released, hold it horizontally and flip it open - keyboard, hold it vertically flip it open - touchscreen flip handset. Microsoft smartphone and a 1.3 megapixel camera. It is starting to look like a P900 beater.

k700 and s700
are these PDAs
if not. then they dont count. Yes, they are Great PHONES, with a badass camera, but you know what. I was looking for a PDA with a phone built in, and bluetooth. the P900 is what im looking for despite its flaws.
Lack of larger Duo memory support.
Bluetooth Range.
but as per all the other features. who can complain! the Digital zoom. Eh. im not really one to care about that. id rather walk up than have a bad pic. but i look foward to have a mobile media center for mp3s and Video.

S700 is not a Smartphone... Is it?
If we see things with this perspective, P900 is still the king
On the other hand, I don't like Smartphones; and even in Smartphones I prefer Windows-based ones...
