sorry if i was confusing, no, i didn't not try to open the case so i can put the strap on. i meant after the strap was on, i think it's slowly pulling the case apart because sometimes i do carry it around with straps.

since then i've taken it off, in fear that the gap will get wider. i was just wondering if the casing gap is something i can fix myself, that was why i was asking if anyone has opened up one before, since they could tell me if it's easy or not.

I do sympathise as it happened to me too! Certainly was not excessive force!
I had emailed SE direct...and after over a week...they asked me to ring the nearer service centre and they would advice me on price??!!!??!! It is simply a poor quality material compared to my second SE phone the Z600!

i guess i'll live with the small gap, since i don't want to damage the case trying to fix it myself, and it looks like i would have to pay SE if i want them to fix it, so...no big deal, just irratating at times.

@tom instead of just assuming they wont help u out I reckon you should pop on down to customer care and let them have a look at it, provided u didnt floss the opening to a pulp cant be totally ur fault so give it a try, what have u got to lose, maybe a few days with ur P9, ..ok thats a bit awful but hey it may jus be worth it in the end

i couldn't really part with my p900 now that the sx1 didn't work out too well. yeah, i also have a sx1 and to my horror, it only has chinese interface (i prefer english) so i am selling that this weekend. at a good price, i found several buyers who are willing to pay $550 it, since Taiwan only initially got 300 sets, and the next shippment won't come in till April. so there are people still willing to pay good money for it. luckly, i am only selling it at 40 bucks loss.

the one thing i missed from my nokias and siemens is the Profile mode, other than that, P900 really has no strong competitors among the smartphones market.

if the gap is where i think it is, have you tried just tightening the screw just below the battery?

i think it's a bad casing on mine. it's okay though, the phone still feels solid. it's just that when u pay 800 bucks for a phone, u expect it to be perfect.
