I think the brand new battery out of the box came partially charged. Should it be used up before the initial charge, or should it left to charge right away?? I always leave new batteries to charge for a whole day, just to be safe. Hard to resist the temptations though.

I have used my battery in another T68i and it showed more standby hours, but less talk time. Mine is R2A014, the other one has the R2B025. Anyway, in either one of them, I don't think the timer is a good indicator of the usage. I think it goes down much faster than my old T39m. I get about the same amount of hours on T68i and T39m, but T39m lasted longer, and the indicator don't decrease as fast. I am sure that T68i drains battery faster, but when they both say 300 hours, shouldn't they last about the same time?? *_*

When I bought by T68i I got told to use up the battery before charging it for 10-12 hr's he first time since as you say the battery
comes with some charge in it from the start.

I still don't get ppl's obsession about the estimated stand-by/talk time meter. Just use the phone and compare it to other phones you used in the same manner in the same location.
My T68i get about same standby time as my previous Nokia 8210 with a 800mA battery but the talk-time is far far better.
So far I never had my T68i shut off in the middle of a call but on the 8210 it happened all the times very annoying that was. So I'm very happy with T68i's battery
Hopefully there will be a brakethrough in battery technology that enables small phones under 100g have alot more stand-by/talk-time.

Oh no! I have a fairly new phone. Read the manual carefully and it only said that im supposed to charge it for 4 hrs. I fully drain and recharge my batt tho. Do you think this wil pose a problem in the long run? My phone is only 3 days old This post was posted from a T68i

I bought a T68i about 10 days ago and I have to say from my experience, the battery sucks. I had been using a Nokia 8390 and it would last about 2 days with heavy use. My T68i lasts less than 2 days, with light usage (I have Bluetooth, irda and GPRS all turned off). I spoke with SE this morning, and they are sending me a new battery, so I am hoping I get better results with this one. They suggested I charge the new battery for about 24 hours the first time, fully drain the battery the first 3 times I charge it and not charge it for more than about 2 hours.
