the target market is 3G.. so im sure a company that knows what its doing would wait until it has perfected the phone so that there are no bugs!!!
the z1010 is not targeted at 2G... there is the s700 and k700 coming out soon that are much cheaper, smaller and better !!!!

so again.its not out of steam.. u just dont know what your talking about!!!

the z1010 is a dual mode phone @Arne Anka, so could have released it alot sooner to run on gsm networks. again, out of steam.

Obviously they can not have released it sooner unless it worked properly as a 3G phone since that what it is. And by the way, why would anybody by Z1010 to use it just as a two band GSM phone when there are cheaper three band GSM phones out there ? It makes no sence.

do you really think that everyone who buys the z1010 will be using it on 3g. how many 3g networks do you think are out there?

but who is going to buy z1010 if they are not going to use 3g? i mean i haven't met a guy that has a 3g phone but doesn't use it.....
if you can buy p900 for the same money than i really don't see the point of buying a z1010....

i think the problem with slamEVIL is that he doesnt get what we are saying. it might be difficult to understand. but it doesnt matter.

the fact is the z1010 is a great 3G phone. thats all it is. its much better than all the competition out there!!! no nokia 3g phone has video support yet. thats really important!!!

no the problem is you don't get what i am saying. i'm the one who brought this up. we have been anticipating the z1010 for about a year now. that's what i mean by it's out of steam. so now since it has sat for so long, all it has going for it is 3g, while other phones like the s700 have everything else.

I had a look at the Z1010, K700, S700, and S5050i today at Cebit. To this discussion i can add that the Z1010 was fun to play with and even though the cam is VGA it seems to be very good and i was very pleased with the user interface which is found in the K700 and S700. I do agree that the Z1010 is losing some of its steam due to competition releasing 3G phones in the same format and with quasi similar features. One of the phones i had a chance to make a video call with was the Samsung Z105 and its screen was just gorgeous and i think because of popular demand for flashy products rather feature packed and the fact that itīs smaller, the Z105 might give the Z1010 a run for its money. Donīt get me wrong though I still have a lot of faith for the Z1010 because of all the other features and hopefully it will be even better when upgraded to Z1020. Itīs just I know how the popular market, i.e not the niche markets of feature fanatics like us, work.

@ Slam evil...dude...3G is gonna be out for a lot of mainstream European networks. Just because itīs not out int he US yet doesnīt mean there are plenty of operators around the world working on them and trying to deploy them as soon as possible. SE was just making sure that the phone was at its best before being released. Yes it could have been released to be used on GSM networks but then no one would buy it because of the bugs and the fact that you would be paying for a product on which you canīt use the main properties. Iīm sure it would have just given SE a headache. I think they did well. They will still compete fairly well with NEC, LG, Samsung and Motorola on 3G clamshells.

all it had WAS 3g in the first place thats the point. is it SO hard to understand ?

for the kinda features it has , even if it was released 5-6 months ago, it was STILL to big for a 2G. do u get that ? at the same price you would get a p900 with many many more features and as the same maybe smaller size !!!!
if u compare it to other 2g clam shell phones its Way to big...

and that is why this is a 3G phone. and i refuse to continue this conversation anymore ... since ur from the US. and U ppl dont know anythin bout mobile phones over there go buy a big mac or somethin. and let us europeans work with our 3G networks !!!

Its still a good phone in my opinion. I think its a shame that in the year delay we've had they couldnt have had Memory Stick Pro Duo. Good to see SE have made some changes. The reduced BT is not that bad as we're not used to long range BT anyway. Maybe the Z10xx could have a 1MP phone? This message was posted from a Nokia
